Dhoni Wants To Part Ways With CSK?

The bond between MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is unbreakable. Dhoni is the leader of CSK since IPL inception and the franchise absolutely backs Dhoni no matter what. However, we hear that Dhoni wants to part ways with CSK.

Going into details, IPL 2022 will have ten teams competing and ahead of this a mega auction will be held in January next year. As per the bidding norms, the franchises are allowed to four players but the value of first choice player to be retained is Rs 16 crore. That’s a huge money for a franchise while their purchase wallet is fixed at Rs 90 crore.

Getting to know this, Dhoni reportedly informed the CSK franchise not to waste money by retaining him. CSK owner N Srinivasan acknowledged this report and added that Dhoni’s suggested the same.

But Srinivasan is in no mood to give up on Dhoni no matter what and he decided to ignore Dhoni’s advice. This is not just Srinivasan’s decision on the whole. CSK’s fan following is massive among the eight current teams and they will be really hurt if Dhoni leaves the franchise.

By December every franchise has to send the list of players they are retaining to the IPL governing council and based on this list, the rest of the players will fall into the Mega auction.
