!South Indian biggie KGF Chapter: 2 entered the elite 1000-crore club the other day. This Prashanth Neel directorial has achieved the feat in just 15 days of its release. It is the fourth Indian film to cross the 1000-crore mark.
Dangal, Baahubali 2, and RRR are the other three films that have achieved this feat in the past. Surprisingly, the list contains only one Hindi film. The rest are the South Indian movies.
In fact, Baahubali 2 was the first Indian film to achieve this record. But Dangal surpassed Baahubali 2’s lifetime collections due to its sensational run in China.
This proves that South Indian films are now the face of Indian cinema. Apart from Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, no other Hindi film has the capacity of earning 1000 crores as per the current market.
Meanwhile, we may get another 1000 crore film from the South, in the form of Pushpa 2. The first part of Pushpa was a big hit in the North. Thus, there will be a huge hype around the sequel and it will get sensational openings across the country for sure.
Let’s see which film will be the next one to join this elite list.
