TANA’s 11 Cr Worth Donations Gets Burnt In Vizag

In a sudden fire accident, COVID-19 protection equipment worth Rs. 11 crores was burnt in Vishakapatnam. This equipment was donated by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA). The accident took place on Wednesday evening.

The accident happened at Shravani shipping godown which is situated at Pedagantyada in Vishakapatnam. A lot of sanitizers, gloves, masks and other protective gear were burnt in this fire accident.

Speaking about the incident, Red Cross Society’s state chairman Sreedhar Reddy said that the equipment was imported from Canada’s Red Cross Society in December 2021. He said that the delay in distribution happened as they got the permissions late.

He stated that this unfortunate incident happened while the equipment was being handed over by the Governor to the health care centres across the state.

He further added that the TANA board has been informed about the incident as well.
