TDP Ends Suspense On Prez Polls: To Support BJP

The Telugu Desam party has ended the suspense on the Presidential elections and its chief Chandrababu Naidu has announced to support BJP’s candidate Draupadi Murmu instead of oppositions joint candidate Yashwant Sinha.

Chandrababu decided to extend support for BJP’s candidate after duly consulting the TDP MLAs and listing out the reason, Chandrababu cited that the social background of Draupadi being the prime reason. “Draupadi hails from a tribal community and it would be an honour for a woman from such a weaker community to be the President of India,” said Naidu.

Though the saffron party did not approach TDP for support, Naidu has changed his attitude towards the BJP and that led him to support Draupadi. And TDP’s support would be a huge advantage for BJP’s candidate and the polls may become one-sided.

The Presidential elections will be held on July 18th and oppositions are making a strong effort to give a shocker to Modi sarkar. The counting will take place on July 21st and the same day results will be declared.
