Cauvery Protests: ‘Tamil Actor’ Siddharth Forced To Leave Bengaluru Press Meet

Siddharth starrer ‘Chikku’ is a Kannada dubbed Tamil film. The movie is directed by S. U. Arun Kumar and features Siddharth, Nimisha Sajayan, Anjali Nair and Sahasra Shree as lead characters. The film’s Telugu version titled Chinna likely to be released on October 6th.

Actor Siddharth was in Bengaluru to promote the film. However in a video that is currently going viral on social media, actor Siddharth is seen forced to leave his Bengaluru press meet, after a pro-Kannadiga activists created a ruckus over ‘a Tamil actor’ promoting his movie in Karnataka amidst the resurged Cauvery water dispute.

In the video, the group of protesting men are seen barging into the press event and heard saying, “Cauvery protests are taking place. Is this [event) needed now?…Don’t you all drink Cauvery water? We haven’t come to give an order, we are making an appeal. You too come protest on the streets”

The protestors also raised slogans and created a ruckus. They also interrupted the actor when he tried to speak. All this forced Siddharth to walk out of the venue. With respect, the actor stands up and greets the media with folded hands before leaving the venue.
