After the deadly terror attack at Pahalgam, Pakistan-based cyber attackers have tried to encroach the Indian cyber sovereignty but failed. Pakistan has been trying to target publicly accessible welfare and educational websites, after finding mission-critical national networks impenetrable.
The hackers, operating in the name of ’10K Hacker’ – Internet of Khilafah, have attempted to disrupt online services, deface pages, and harvest personal information. However, Indian cybersecurity detected the intrusions and traced the hackers base to Pakistan.
The Intelligence authorities confirmed four related incidents. The websites of Army Public School Srinara and APS Ranikhet were targeted with inflammatory propaganda. The APS Srinagar also faced a distributed-denial-of-service assault.
The cybersecurity agencies detected an attempted breach of the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) database and also tried to hack the Indian Air Force Placement Organisation Portal. All four sites were promptly isolated and restorative action was undertaken. Sources said that no operational or classified networks were affected at any stage.
These unsuccessful attempts highlight the rival’s intent and limitations. The Indian Army is firm in protecting the digital space, upgrading its cyber posture continuously and safeguarding the welfare of soldiers and their families.
At the same time, the Pakistani Army forces have resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the LoC on April 28-29 in regions close to Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as in the Akhnoor sector in J&K but the Indian Army responded firmly.
Similar firing of small arms was witnessed on the night of April 25-26 and April 27-28 at Kupwara and Poonch districts.
