For those who don’t already know, Telangana is one of the very few landlocked Indian states. Telangana does not have any coastline, and there is no direct connectivity with any sort of oceanic water body.
Interestingly, enough, the Telangana government is no contemplating the area of setting up an artificial beach in the Kotwal Guda area near Hyderabad.
According to the latest reports, Hyderabad is set to get its first artificial beach near Kotwal Guda, with construction starting in December 2025.
The ₹225 crore project will feature adventure sports, floating villas, luxury hotels, wave pools, parks, cycling tracks & food courts.
The existing water body near the Kotwal Guda region will be used to create an oceanic themed environment. In order to make the project commercially viable, there will also be luxury hotels and villas in the area which would contribute to the revenues.
This is going to be one of the most ambitious projects by the government of Telangana, and it could be starting as soon as this December itself.
The Telangana tourism department has been instructed to take up this project to very prestigiously as this could soon become the top getaway spot for Hyderabad people.
