These are some of the mesmerizing and viral photographs captured during the Khairatabad Ganesha’s Sobha Yatra on Saturday morning. The 69-foot-tall Ganesh idol adorned the streets near the Necklace Road and brought visual delight to lakhs of devotees who caught one last glimpse of the lord before the immersion in the Hussain Sagar Lake.
The Sobha Yatra began at 7:44 AM and concluded with the idol’s immersion as per schedule at 1:04 PM. To compare, the Buddha Statue that lies in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake stands at a height of 58 feet. With Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gracing the procession, the entire Necklace Road stretch was cordoned off by police forces.
The Ganesha procession was carried out in front of the iconic Telangana Secretariat, the Ambedkar Statue, and the Martyr’s Memorial. The Sobha Yatra was safely concluded thanks to the effective security management by the authorities.
