Even as the people of Telugu states grieve the recent road mishaps which killed tens of passengers, another tragedy broke out in the form an accident as a private bus fell into a gorge in Alluri district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident reportedly happened in the wee hours of Friday in between Chintur – Maredemalli Ghat road.
According to the preliminary reports, at least 9 people feared dead in this unfortunate incident. There were 30 passengers in the bus at the time of accident and rescue operations are currently underway to save remaining victims. The bus belongs to a private travels agency in Chittoor district and accident happened when it was heading to Maredemalli via Chintur on the ghat road near Rajugari Mettu.
Sources revealed that the bus lost control and plunged into the gorge, resulting in casualities. The passengers were reportedly on a devotional tour and going to Annavaram after completing darshan of Bhadrachalam temple. All victims are said to be from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
Local people rushed to the spot after hearing a huge cry from passengers and informed the police department and ambulances. They are now rescuing the injured passengers and taking them to the nearby hospitals. More details about the accident will be out shortly and the exact number of casualties will be revealed.
