Watch: ‘Rangasthalam Could Have Shaken the Entire Country’

Ahead of the release of Lenin, Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse sat down with Gulte pro’s Ram Venkat Srikar for an engaging conversation that went beyond routine promotions. They spoke about the film’s rooted storytelling, evolving cinema, and why they strongly believe content is becoming the biggest star.

One of the most interesting moments came when Akhil spoke about Rangasthalam. He said, “I feel that if Rangasthalam released today, it would have shaken the entire country, just like Pushpa.” According to him, the film was ahead of its time and its rustic world, emotional depth, and authentic storytelling would have found an even bigger nationwide audience in today’s pan India era.

Explaining why Lenin excited him, Akhil said the film carries the same honesty and rootedness that made classics like Rangasthalam memorable. He added that young actors today cannot rely only on star image and must first earn the audience’s trust through strong stories and believable characters.

Bhagyashri shared her experience of shooting on a massive village set with hundreds of junior artists every day. She admitted it was overwhelming at first, but the realistic atmosphere helped her immerse herself in the character and deliver a more natural performance.

Both actors agreed that the script was the biggest reason they signed Lenin. They described it as an organic love story woven into intense drama, saying the emotional journey is what sets the film apart from routine commercial entertainers.

The duo also praised director Murali Kishor Abburu for giving actors enough freedom while ensuring every scene stayed true to the film’s realistic tone. They expressed confidence that Lenin will leave audiences emotionally satisfied and prove that heartfelt storytelling still has the power to create magic on the big screen.
