Why Telangana Ministers Not Happy With Andhra Ministers?

The working relationship between Telangana leaders and a few Union Ministers from Andhra Pradesh appears to be getting uncomfortable.

Ram Mohan Naidu and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar have been facing criticism from some Telangana Congress leaders over issues related to projects in the state. The complaint is simple. They want the Union Ministers to spend more time discussing Telangana projects and coordinate better with the state government.

The Warangal airport issue has brought this criticism into the open. Telangana leaders have been seeking more clarity and support from the Civil Aviation Ministry over the airport expansion plans. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has publicly raised concerns about the response from the Centre.

Pemmasani has also faced complaints over the way central projects are being announced in Telangana. Some leaders feel the state government should be kept in the loop before such announcements are made.

Interestingly, Srinivasa Varma has largely stayed away from this criticism.

Union Ministers are responsible for the entire country and are expected to work with every state, irrespective of which party is in power. Telangana Congress leaders are therefore questioning the level of coordination from the ministers from AP on issues concerning their state. Their argument is that political differences between state governments should not come in the way of development projects.

The matter could become a fresh point of friction between the two Telugu states if coordination does not improve.
