In a new development, the Supreme Court today adjourned the lunch motion petition filed by Andhra Pradesh to January 2nd. This means that the AP High Court's functionality is still in limbo.
The Andhra Pradesh government has earlier informed the Supreme Court and the Centre that it will take another 10 months for the High Court building to be fully functional at Amaravati. However, with this petition, the state will now have to wait for the apex court's decision on January 2nd.
The AP High Court Advocates Association had on Saturday requested the Supreme Court to allow the Andhra Pradesh High Court to work from Hyderabad in the present building till a full-fledged building is constructed at Amaravati in AP.
