Actress Rohini Hattangadi is one of the finest actors in the country. Playing Kasturibha’s role in the film Gandhi, she garnered huge fame and name. She even did some Telugu films, of which she is most famous for her granny role in “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.” At the age of 68, she has now created a sensation at the box office with the Marathi film “Baipan Bhari Deva.”
Despite being made on a budget of just five crores, the film has grossed over 90 crores at the box office. After six months of its theatrical release, the film is now available on Hotstar. Directed by Kedar Shinde, the film skillfully portrays six women’s emotions. The scenes are reminiscent of everyday conversations at home, making it relatable to the audience.
Alongside Rohini Hattangadi, the other five actresses delivered extraordinary performances. The film is available only in the original Marathi version, with Hindi dubbing as the sole alternative.
There are talks about a Telugu remake of the film, with a female director reportedly trying to assemble a cast aiming to retain Rohini Hattangadi. However, reports suggest that the producers of “Baipan Bhari Deva” have hesitated to sell the remake rights to other languages.
The film’s success, achieved with an all-female cast, is noteworthy in the current times and especially, when the filmmakers realize that the film can pull family crowds, the film is ought to become a hit.
