The Kerala Story: Release Locked on Zee5

Gone are the days when people used to eagerly wait for films to get premiered on television. Currently, audiences await the release of films on OTT. One blockbuster which is yet to make its digital debut even after ten months is “The Kerala Story.” There have been many speculations surrounding the same, but we hear that the hurdles are finally cleared.

This controversial film, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role, took the box office by storm upon its release in May last year, unexpectedly surpassing three hundred crores in gross earnings. Despite its immense success, millions of viewers who have yet to watch the film have been eagerly awaiting its digital release.

We have arrived at the conclusion finally that the film will be made available for streaming on Zee5 from 16th February. Rumors circulating in the OTT circles suggest that the delay in the film’s digital release was due to negotiations regarding pricing between the producers and streaming platforms or perhaps due to a strategy to build anticipation among audiences.

“The Kerala Story,” with its focus on the topic of love jihad, holds the potential to break records in the digital streaming arena, much like its success in theaters. We have to wait a few weeks to see the film’s potential on OTT.
