Anaganaga: Slow, Yet A Wake-Up Call for Parents & Schools

ETV Win’s new original, Anaganaga, became a talking point ever since its trailer was released. Featuring Sumanth and Kajal Choudhary, the social drama has been directed by Sunny Sanjay and is now available for streaming.

Anaganaga tells the story of Vyas, played by Sumanth, who does not agree with the conventional style of education followed in international schools. Instead, he promotes concept-based learning, which does not sit well with the school management. While this plot may seem simple, director Sunny Sanjay adds layers by introducing compelling episodes involving the wife and son.

The female lead, Kajal Choudhary, plays a school principal who opposes her husband’s educational approach. To add to the conflict, their son fails his exams despite being taught by his father. This gives the film an edge, as the core conflict is both relatable and emotionally engaging.

The story revolves around three individuals, each with a different perspective. Director Sunny effectively showcases the emotional turmoil the family experiences. Each character is right in their way, but those differences create conflict.

Anaganaga is essentially the story of a man challenging the system. While this theme has been explored in many films before, and may not offer much novelty in terms of plot, the emotional drama elevates the film. The conflict of a teacher taking on a rigid institution demands impactful scenes, and while the drama could have been heightened further, the emotional moments are where the film truly shines.

Though the lead actors performances are just passable, the real standout is the powerful message it delivers. Every parent and child should give this film a watch. It thoughtfully portrays the pressure parents place on their children and how students react to failure, sometimes making impulsive decisions. The film emphasizes how failure should be approached with understanding and resilience.

Anaganaga is a clean, family-friendly film. Though it’s slow to reach the core plot, once it does, it turns into a worthwhile watch. The songs, production design, cinematography, and the likes of seasoned actors like Srinivas Avasarala further enhance the viewing experience.
