Acclaimed filmmaker Deva Katta, known for his politically charged films like Prasthanam, Autonagar Surya, and Republic, has ventured into the streaming space with his latest creation, Mayasabha. The acclaimed director brings his signature style of hard-hitting political storytelling with Sony LIV’s Telugu original series.
Since its premiere on Sony LIV on August 7, Mayasabha has received widespread appreciation from critics and audiences alike. The show has registered an outstanding 2.8 million views, claiming the third position on Ormax Media’s list of India’s most-watched streaming content for August 11–17, 2025.

The series chronicles the complex dynamics between Kakarla Krishnama Naidu (Aadi Pinishetty) and MS Rami Reddy (Chaitanya Rao Madadi), documenting their journey from intimate friends to political nemeses.
Jointly directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar, Mayasabha offers a fictionalised interpretation of crucial political episodes from the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh between 1974 and 2009. The opening season showcases developments till 1983. This nine-episode series has engaged the audience with its gripping screenplay and intense performances right from the beginning to the end. The dramatic ending to the first season also raises anticipation around the second season, which would showcase the political rivalry between KKN and MSR.
The series features remarkable performances from a huge star cast, including Divya Dutta, Saikumar, Nasser, Shatru, Ravindra Vijay, Tanya Ravichandran, Bhavana Vazhapandal, Charitha Varma, and several other notable actors.
