It is known that the U.S. military aircraft C-17 carrying 104 Indians landed in Amritsar last afternoon. This is believed to be one of the many deportation activities carried out by the government of United States starting soon.
Going into the story, a man named Jaspal Singh, 36 who is one of the deportees revealed the inside story of the deportation drive.
Singh revealed that he and the rest of the passengers were cuffed through the course of the journey. He revealed that their hands and legs were cuffed by the US troopers and it remained that way for the full length of the journey. Only after the landing were these cuffs removed.
Singh hails from the Hardorwal village in Gurdaspur district, said he was captured by the U.S. Border Patrol on January 24. He says he was cheated by a travel agency who promised to take him to the U.S. “legally”.
He allegedly paid Rs 30 lakh to the travel agent to be taken to the USA. He was allegedly kept in Brazil for six months before being taken illegally to the USA where he was arrested by U.S. border troopers.
Apparently, Singh wasn’t even aware that the United States government was deporting him in the first place.
Out of the 104 deportees, 33 each are from Haryana and Gujarat. 30 are from Punjab. None are from Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, it seems.
