As per the latest reports from the international media outlets, a 48-year-old Indian-origin woman has been charged for allegedly slitting her 11-year-old son’s throat and killing after going on a three-day vacation to Disneyland. Saritha Ramaraju is the suspect and she had been charged with one felony count of murder and one felony enhancement of personal use of a knife.

As per the reports from the California police officials, Saritha Ramaraju might face a maximum sentence of 26 years to life if convicted on all charges. She had divorced her husband and moved out of California in 2018. The incident took place when she was in Santa Ana with her son for a custody visit.

Saritha Ramaraju initially purchased a three-day pass to Disneyland for both herself and son. Later, she planned to check out of the hotel on March 19 to return son to the father. But, she herself reported to 911 that she had killed her son and consumed some pills to end her life.

The Santa Ana police arrived at the spot and found the 11-year-old boy’s dead body on the bed.
