Telangana BJP MLA Rakesh Reddy thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and IT minister N. Lokesh for honouring the recommendation letters from his colleagues, seeking darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.
The BJP MLA was speaking in the Assembly when he raised the issue and thanked Naidu. He reminded the legislators about the hardships they faced with regard to the recommendation letters to the TTD, after bifurcation of the state. Several leaders raised the issue in the public and lamented that the Telangana legislators were being discriminated by the TTD authorities.
Later, a few MLAs from the neighbouring state met with Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and sought honouring their recommendation letters, facilitating hassle-free darshan to them and their near ones. With the Andhra Pradesh CM responding positively to their request, the matter was resolved and special guidelines were issued recently briefing about the days when the letters from elected representatives of the neighbouring states would be approved.
Following this decision by the CM and TTD authorities, the BJP MLA thanked Chandrababu and others in the Telangana Assembly. In view of the heavy rush of pilgrims at the abode of Lord Venkateswara, approval of letters from the Telangana legislators would help them maintain the bond with the Lord.
