The visa fee to visit Australia and UK is going to get hiked. The new rates will be applicable from April 1st. Apart from UK and Australia, EU will also raise its visa charges. Additionally, the tuition fees for the international applicants will also get increased.
Going by the reports, the hikes affect a wide range of categories, from short-term visitor visas to work sponsorships and long-term university courses for Indians planning to visit abroad or to work and study.
Based on the new hikes, a six-month standard visitor UK visa will now cost £127 (approximately Rs 14,000). Earlier, it used to cost £115 (approximately Rs 12,700). A two-year visa will cost £475 (previously £432), five-year visas will be £848 (up from £771), and ten-year visas will cost £1,059 (up from £963).
Several Australian universities will raise tuition fees over 7%. Engineering fees will rise to AUD 56,480 (₹30.36 lakh) per year, while clinical medicine will cost AUD 112,832 (₹60.66 lakh) at universities in Melbourne. In Sydney universities, most courses will be priced at AUD 58,560 annually.
A new digital entry permit for visa-exempt travelers will cost €7 and remain valid for three years. However, Indians will still need a Schengen visa.
