Trump’s New Executive Order On Pharma: What Next?

The United States of America is known to have some of the highest pricing models when it comes to pharmaceuticals and prescription drugs. However, the new president of the United States, Trump is having none of it as he announced the arrival of a new executive order.

Trump that he is going to sign a new executive order that would largely cut down the prices of prescription drugs in the United States.

Trump stated that the very same pharmaceutical drugs that are prepared by the very same company are sold for much higher prices in the United States when compared to the other countries.

He pointed out that the Americans were the sole bearers of the research and development act rites incorporated by these companies. He announced that this will no longer be the case once he introduces the new executive order.

Trump says this new order that he is going to sign will be extremely “consequential” and it would immediately bring down the prices of prescription drugs by 30%-80%. This is going to be one of the most effective orders in the recent pharma history of the United States.

Trump communicated that the United States will now be paying the same price as the nation that pays the lowest price for the prescription drug. This would mean that the prices of the pharmaceuticals and prescription drugs in the United States will be largely cut down based on the global pricing models.

Trump himself confirmed that the pharmaceutical companies will now hike the prices globally in order to accommodate the change in pricing model in United States. This is surely going to be one of the most consequential executive orders signed by Trump. He has clearly taken the “America First” approach very seriously.
