After sudden departure from Trump’s government, Tesla CEO Elon Musk criticized the US President’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ as a ‘disgusting abomination’. In yet another attack on Trump’s administration flagship spending legislation, he urged Americans to lobby Congress to “KILL the BILL”.
Musk served as a “special government employee at the helm of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Trump’s government, with an aim to eliminate what he characterized as bloated government programmes. However, after quitting the government last week he launched criticism against the same administration, he previously championed.
Intensifying his offensive, Musk cautioned that “America is in the fast lane to debt slavery”. He also insisted on a comprehensive overhaul of the legislation. “A new spending bill should be drafted that doesn’t massively grow the deficit and increase the debt ceiling by 5 TRILLION DOLLARS,” he demanded. He also exhorted the people to call their senators, Congressmen regarding the bill. Taking to X, he stated: “Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL.”
Elon Musk intensified his offensive earlier today, cautioning that “America is in the fast lane to debt slavery” while insisting on a comprehensive overhaul of the legislation. In another post shared on X, Musk stated, “This spending bill contains the largest increase in the debt ceiling in US history! It is the Debt Slavery Bill.” While Musk views the Bill detrimental to the interests of Americans, Trump described it ‘big, beautiful bill’, which encompasses sweeping tax reductions and expanded military expenditure.
The Republicans are fearing that Musk’s hostility could spell disaster for sitting members. His anti-Republican stance was clear when he vowed to “fire all the politicians who betrayed the American people” in the upcoming midterm contests.
