The government of the United States has been acting strictly against illegal immigrants ever since Donald Trump came into power. In the latest development, the world’s most followed TikTok influencer, Khaby Lame, has left the United States after being detained by the immigration authorities due to overstaying his visa.
Khaby Lame was detained by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Khaby is a Senegalese-born, Italian influencer, and his full name is Seringe Khabane Lame.
According to the reports, the 25-year-old Khaby Lame entered the US on April 30 and was staying in the country even after the expiry of his visa. After being detained, ICE allowed Khaby to voluntarily leave the country without being formally deported, which will help him return to the US in the future. Meanwhile, Khaby Lame hasn’t responded to this incident yet.
Lame has over 162 million followers on TikTok. He shot to fame during the pandemic through his lifehack videos on the platform.
On the other side, the Trump government’s recent immigration policies have been drawing huge criticism and widespread protests, especially in Los Angeles.
