Just a few days ago, an Indian student, Tanya Tyagi, died in Canada. Even before we came over that news, here is a new development of another Indian-origin woman losing her life in Canada.
The police officials in Canada’s Ontario province discovered the remains of an origin woman, Shalini Singh, at a landfill. After the investigation, the officials found that her missing report was filed on December 10th last year. The cops charged Shalini’s live-in partner in this case.
The Hamilton police officials identified a man named Jeffery Smith and charged him with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains. Upon finding the human remains, the officials conducted a DNA analysis and identified that it belongs to Shalini Singh.
Shalini was reportedly living together with Smith who had past behaviour of violence. He earlier attacked his mother but Shalini supported him. On May 21, the police discovered partial human remains at the site. Soon, the police arrested Jeffrey Smith, 42, who was her live-in partner.
According to the police, the couple were together for five to seven years.
