Telugu Student Deekshith Reddy in ICU After US Gun Violence

In yet another tragic incident of US gun violence, a young Telugu student named Deekshith Reddy was severely injured in a shooting incident that took place at a 7-Eleven store in Irving, Texas. Deekshith Reddy is currently in the ICU and is undergoing a major surgery.

As per an Instagram post, Deekshith was shot at a 7-Eleven store on August 26. He sustained multiple fractures, including a collarbone and rib fracture, and also got one of his lungs punctured in the attack. The nature of the crime is still uncertain, although speculations hint of a hate crime.

Friends describe Deekshith as a hardworking, kind and dedicated young man. He reportedly does not have health insurance, as he recently graduated and is currently in search of an IT job, leaving him and his family to face overwhelming surgery costs, medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and living expenses.

A GoFundMe campaign that was launched by Deekshith’s friends has raised over $14,000 out of the target $45,000 from over 450 donations.
