Meet The First AI-Powered Minister In The World

After employing artificial intelligence  (AI) for robots and waiters, Albania, in a first in the world, inducted an AI minister. The nation has a virtual minister powered by AI, not to be confused with a minister for AI.

Albania PM Edi Rama said the country would have a digital minister or an AI Prime Minister one day. The AI minister is made of code and pixels and will be taking care of procurement.

On September 11, the nation’s PM introduced the AI minister at the Socialist Party’s assembly event in Tirana. The AI minister, called Diella, is made of code and pixels and will be taking care of procurement. It may be recalled that the PM hinted about the AI minister earlier but nobody thought it would be a reality so soon.

Diella is the only non-human member in the Albania government. Diella is the first member not physically present but virtually created by artificial intelligence, Rama said. The AI minister would supervise public procurement and help bring down corruption in government spending.

The AI-powered Diella will also evaluate and award all public tenders where the government hires private firms.

Reportedly, Diella is already serving the citizens through the country’s digital services portal, processing bureaucratic requests through voice commands. The AI minister will also have the right to hire talents from across the world. The PM is certain that Diella will help in checking graft and threats.

Reportedly, Albania is mired in corruption in public administration, especially in the area of public procurement.
