Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently played a cameo in the film Coolie. The character comes towards the end of the film, and he has already confirmed playing it, out of love for Superstar Rajinikanth. But yesterday, a newspaper article went viral on social media where it claimed that Aamir regretted doing the film and it did not add any value.
Many expressed doubts about whether Aamir really made such a statement, and were unclear about the authenticity of the article. However, today, Aamir’s team made it clear that it is fake news and Aamir has not given any such interview or statement.
In a statement, Aamir’s team said, “Mr. Aamir Khan has given no such interview and has made no negative comments about the film ‘Coolie’. Mr. Khan has the highest regard for Mr. Rajinikanth, Mr. Lokesh, and in fact the entire team of ‘Coolie’. The film has done over 500 Cr at the box office, which speaks for itself.”
Aamir Khan was clear from the beginning that he is doing Coolie just because of the admiration he had for Rajinikanth. Additionally, he also signed a film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and out of the respect that he has for this collaboration, he went ahead to do this project. But, there is a lot of criticism and trolls on Aamir Khan’s short cameo, which brought negativity towards him.
Coolie was not a part of LCU but it fell short of the expectations and ended as an average film at the box office.
