“Bad Santa Not Allowed”: Trump’s Immigration Joke On Christmas

US President Donald Trump, who is known for his aggressive approach in his official capacity, has revealed his softer side by taking part in the traditional tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve program organised by NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command. 

Trump and First Lady Melina Trump, who are currently in vacay mode at their Mar-a-Lago estate, interacted with several children through phone calls and playfully cracked jokes and exchanged pleasantries while tracking Santa’s progress around the globe. Trump actively quizzed children to know what presents they were excited about receiving from Santa. 

Giving a touch of his trademark sarcasm over the ongoing stringent immigration rules in his second tenure, Trump said in one of his calls “We want to make sure that Santa is being good. Santa is a very good person. We want to make sure that he’s not infiltrated, that we’re not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa.” 

When an 8-year-old from North Carolina, asked if Santa would be mad if no one leaves cookies out for him, Trump said he didn’t think so, “But I think he’ll be very disappointed.”

Both Trump and Melina sat side by side and took dozens of calls during this interactive session with several kids. Trump was in an enjoyable mood and said that could do this all day long but would like to go back to serious issues like the ongoing Russia – Ukraine war. 

The NORAD Santa tracker is a long running Christmas Eve tradition which has a history of 70 years. It allows children to call in and follow Santa’s progress around the world with lighthearted conversations.
