A 27 year old Telugu girl named Nikitha Godishala, who had been reported to be missing since last week, was now found dead in the apartment of her friend in Columbia, Maryland. It was suspected that she was stabbed to death on December 31st shortly after 7 pm.

As per the statement of Howard County Police, she was found with multiple wounds inside her friend Arjun Sharma’s flat after detectives executed a search warrant. They are suspecting Sharma as the prime offender and launched a manhunt after obtaining a warrant for his arrest on first- and second-degree murder charges.

Initial investigation revealed that Nikitha went to Arjun’s apartment on December 31st and it was later reported that she had been missing from his apartment. He informed the police about Nikitha’s disappearance on January 2, stating that he last saw her on December 31 at his residence located in the 10100 block of Twin Rivers Road.

Arjun Sharma has reportedly fled the country on the same day after informing the police. He returned to India by flight and Howard County Police are collaborating with federal law enforcement agencies in the US to locate and apprehend him.
