In the recent past, Canada has been registering an abnormally high volume of fatal incident involving the Indian community and now we have another sad addition to this list as a businessman was shot dead in the county.
According to the latest media reports, Binder Garcha, 48, a businessman from Punjab and owner of Studio-12, was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon near the 3500-block of 176 Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, as per the preliminary report from the medical team.
The incident happened at the usually crowded Surrey area in Canada and the police also recovered a burned vehicle near the 18900‑block of 40 Avenue, believed linked to the shooting, and are seeking CCTV or dashcam footage to derive crucial details regarding the shooting.
Reports say he was the owner of Studio 12 and Banquet Hall. Community members are expressing shock and grief, describing him as a very kind, respectful, and gentle person. Meanwhile, the police are on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
