In what could be considered an extremely shocking statistic, it is being established that one Indian was being caught and prosecuted every 20 minutes in the United States for trying to enter the country illegally along the conflicting border.
According to the latest reports, published by leading Indian outlet, 23,830 Indians caught at the United States border in 2025, which roughly converts to one Indian per 20 minutes span.
This number is significantly lower than the 85,119 caught in 2024, but that does not take away the fact that India is one of the leading source countries when it comes to illegal entries into the United States.
It must also be noted that an interesting pattern is also being observed here as more Indians are entering United States illegally through the Canadian border rather than the popular Mexican border.
On one side, Indians are living in wishful thinking, believing that India is the world’s fourth largest economy. On the other side, this report exposes that every 20 minutes, one Indian is entering the USA which isn’t a good sign.
