It was not long before the United States of America was the dream destination for the Indian population in terms of living conditions, employment opportunities, and higher education.
But the political atmosphere in the United States is extremely heated after the appointment of Donald Trump as the President of the country. On one hand, the job market is declining and on the other Donald Trump is excessively against the international immigration population.
The strong measures against the H1B visa and the constant pressure on the immigration authorities to crack down on the working class here has meant a strong wind against Indians there.
On that note, the latest survey carried out by Carnegie Endowment agency says that out of the 1000 Indian nationals who took part in this survey in the US, around 40% are considering leaving the country.
58% of the respondents who are considering leaving the United States of the opinion that the political atmosphere in the country due to Donald Trump is the reason why they have taken this decision.
It appears that the American dream for the Indian population about settling down and having a permanent residency in the US is slowly, but surely decline. The volume of the population travelling to the US has been going down consistently and on the other hand, the population staying there is also contemplating leaving at the earliest.
