An Indian-origin massage therapist was sentenced to 13 years and 10 months in prison for sexually abusing 61 women while working at a massage parlour in Adelaide, Australia. The sentence includes a non-parole period of 10 years and 10 months.
The judge in the Australian court said that the 39-year-old Indian’s conduct was “out of control and exploitative” and showed “no sign of restraint until caught”.
Sumit Satish Rastogi lacked formal qualification yet worked at 4ever Massage Clinic in Glenelg between October 2021 and July 2022. During this period, he targeted unsuspecting female clients during appointments. The court described Rastogi as “regular and prolific” offending over several months.
Reportedly, Rastogi pleaded guilty to 97 offences, including 55 counts of indecent filming and 42 counts of aggravated indecent assault. He is likely to face deportation after his release.
During sentencing in the court, the judge said” “You abused their thrust and treated them with an utter lack of respect and dignity.” Rastogi blamed his actions on a voyeuristic disorder and marital issues. However, the judge said it does not excuse his conduct.
Meanwhile, the victims described Rastogi as a ‘predator’ and a ‘creep’.
