Indian Killed in Drone Attack at Kuwait Airport

An Indian national was killed in an Iranian drones attack on Kuwait International Airport early on Wednesday morning. Over 63 others were injured in the attack, the state news agency reported. Following the attack, several flights were diverted.

Apart from the death, the Iranian drone also damaged Terminal 1 at the airport.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait, on X, expressed condolence and assured support to the victim’s family. The Indian Embassy said it was deeply saddened by the death of the Indian citizen in the attack and was in touch with the bereaved family, extending full support to the members.

The attack was done amidst escalation of differences between Iran and the US, even as ceasefire efforts are underway.

Meanwhile, the US military said it intercepted several drones that targeted American forces in Kuwait. Iranian missiles fired toward the country fell apart en route.

Bahrain army said it intercepted three missiles and several drones aimed at Bahrain, which is also home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet.

Retaliating to the Iran attack, the US launched strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. The US military said two Iranian missiles aimed at Kuwait either fell short or broke apart in flight.

Meanwhile, India condemned the attack on Kuwait International Airport. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and said the Indian Embassy in Kuwait was providing all assistance to the injured.
