The Strait of Hormuz has been one of the most pivotal geopolitical locations in the world since the start of the United States and Iran conflict. Now that the negotiation between US and Iran have fallen through again, this strategic location is witnessing work atmosphere.
Now the latest developments are suggesting that the airstrike committed by the United States on a vessel in the Hormuz has killed multiple individuals including 3 Indians.
Regarding this, the minister for ports and shipping, Sarbananda Sonowal has confirmed the killing of 3 Indian sailors.
“It is deeply unfortunate to learn of the tragic incident aboard the Palau-flagged MT Settebello. Sadly, three Indian seafarers initially reported missing are now confirmed dead after bodies have been located and identified.
This is a profound loss to our maritime family. The Modi Govt stands firmly with the bereaved during this difficult hour and is fully committed to supporting the next of kin.” He stated earlier.
The minister then directed officials to ensure immediate repatriation of the rescued crew members and swift return of the mortal remains of the deceased for their final rites.
