27 Indians Shine In Forbes US Immigrant List

Forbes has released a list of America’s Top 250 Most Successful Immigrants to mark the US 250th anniversary. The list includes influential immigrants from various sectors, with a significant number of Indian-origin personalities securing strong positions, even as US President Donald Trump continues to stick to a strict anti-immigration policy.

As many as 27 Indian-origin individuals are among the 250 in the Forbes List highlighting the robust representation of the Indian community in the US and their significant contribution to the US economy, science and society. They include entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, and media personalities.

Indian-origin leaders like Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla was ranked 14, the highest-ranked Indian-origin leader on the list. Investor Naval Ravikant, who co-founded startups like Epinions and Vast.com, secured 27th place. He also invested in X ( Twitter ), Uber and Postmates before they became known to the world.

Catalyst CEO Hemant Taneja, SanDisk co-founder and Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, cybersecurity entrepreneur Jay Chaudhry, Palo Alto Networks cybersecurity firm CEO Nikesh Arora, Confluent cofounder Neha Narkhede are among those in the list, indicating the strong presence in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Abhijit Banerjee, who won the Nobel prize, was also included in the list. Indian-origin female entrepreneur former PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi, philanthropist Neerja Sethi, TV Host and prominent author Padma Lakshmi also feature in the list.

The top five immigrants on the overall list were former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tesla chief Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Google cofounder Sergey Brin, and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
