The Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is the leading investigator agency in the universe, has been cracking down on Indian operations. They recently shut down a fabricated call centre in India saying they had been cheating the US citizens.
Now this is followed by another significant development as the FBI has pointed the fingers at an Indian police officer, and the repercussions are being felt now.
Incidentally, the US authorities claimed that an Indian police chief demanded $400,000 from a family in Los Angeles and threatened to frame false murder charges against their family if they didn’t pay and America will seek his extradition from India.
Now, Punjab Police has taken note of news reports referring to the alleged nomination of Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, presently posted as SHO, Police Station Tanda, in connection with an extortion-related investigation reportedly undertaken by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), USA, under “Operation Hardball.”
The Punjab Police have initiated investigation on the same, and in the meanwhile, Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra has been shifted from Police Station Tanda to Police Lines, Hoshiarpur, with immediate effect. He will no longer be holding a position of power till the investigation is completed.
