3 Years Pause On H-1B Visas? What’s Fate Of Telugu Folk?

The United States administration has been steadily moving against the H-1B visa policy, which permits international workers to find jobs in the US. In accordance, President Trump recently introduced a fee of hundred thousand dollars on new H1B visas which was eventually struck down by the Court.

However, there is a new commotion that is growing in the United States against the H-1B Visa policy, and this is even more bad news to the Telugu community which heavily relies on this work permit system.

US senator Tim Sheehy has introduced a bill in the Senate that seeks to pause issuance of new H-1B visas for a period of three years. He went on to demand the legislation of the USD 100,000 fee imposed by the Trump administration, which was struck down by a federal court.

Incidentally Tim Sheehy, a Republican from Montana, said the US should not be issuing visas that make it easier to replace American workers with immigrant working population.

If at all the United States administration decides to pause this ye H1B visa for a period of three years, then this could mean very bad news for Indian community and particularly the Telugu folk. It is an established fact that the Telugu community is almost entirely dependent on H1B visa for employment opportunities there. If this gets taken away, all hell might break lose to the recent bunch of Telugu people who traveled to the US in hope of jobs.

On a related note, a US appeals court has dismissed Donald Trump administration’s appeal to pause the federal court’s ruling against imposition of 100K fee on H1B visa. While the government is looking to enforce new restrictions on H1B policy, the courts appear to be coming in their way.
