TDP Finally Breaks Into Jagan’s Pulivendula Fort!

Regardless of the political outcome across Andhra Pradesh, the Pulivendula constituency has historically been with the YS family. All the electoral bodies regarding Pulivendula, including the Assembly, Parliament and local body entities have been with the YS family for more than five decades.

But after the humiliating defeat in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh assembly election, it needs to be said that Jagan had been facing a tough situation in Pulivendula as well. This first started with TDP being able to secure the local body election in Pulivendula for the first time in history.

Now there is something more significant as the ongoing local body election in Pulivendula has become a one side affair in favour of the TDP.

According to the latest reports, TDP is able to win 64 out of the 65 MPTC segments across Pulivendula in unanimous manner. Being able to secure as many MPTC segments unanimously in the bastion of YS Jagan is a dream come true moment for the local cadres.

In fact, Jagan had publicly said he would not give MLA and MP tickets to his party leaders if there are anonymous outcomes in the local body election. But Jagan himself is facing this scenario now as there are multiple unanimous outcomes in Pulivendula itself. It shall be seen how he would react to this.

Apart from the MPTC domination, the TDP was able to secure the ZPTC election as well. Out of the 7 ZPTC segments in Pulivendula, 3 have gone unanimous already. The rest four segments will go for election.

Not many would have imagined TDP to gain such a strong position in the Pulivendula Fortress that historically belonged to the YS family but such is the political atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh now. Even the active presence of Jagan in Pulivendula is not able to subside the outright domination of the local TDP cadres and this must be a problematic situation for the former CM, remarked a neutral observer.
