Another Indian Woman Shot Dead In Canada

In recent times, crimes involving Indian nationals in foreign countries have become so common. Many fatal incidents featuring Indians are being reported from countries like USA and Canada.

Now, a 26-year-old Indian-origin woman, Navneet Kaur, was shot and killed on Friday morning in what authorities are calling a targeted attack in Toronto, Canada. This is the second such cold blooded murder in the last few days as a Punjab woman was recently killed by her live in partner in Canada.

As per reports, officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 7:23 AM near Humberwood Boulevard and Rexdale Boulevard. Kaur was found outdoors with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene despite receiving emergency medical care.

An eyewitness has spotted Kaur being pursued by another man who shot her and fled the scene. Following a search involving drone units, police arrested 37-year-old Sharanjit Singh of Brampton. He has been charged with first-degree murder and failure to comply with a release undertaking.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be confirmed. Toronto Police confirmed that they consider the incident a targeted attack and do not believe any other suspects are on the run.
