United States is currently witnessing one of the most self-absorbed president in its history in the form of Donald Trump, and he is doing everything he can live to his reputation.
Now Donald Trump has instructed his administration to release the first round of Donald Trump coins, which will be a legal tender of currency from now on.
The US Mint announced that the 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin has been launched and is now in circulation. US Mint also announces that these coins will be available for purchase beginning at 12 PM ET.
This marks the first time in US history that a sitting president has been featured on a circulating US coin.
Collectors can buy 25-coin rolls for $61 or 100-coin bags for $154.50. Hidden among them are 250,000 special coins struck on July 4. The legal-tender coins feature Trump’s portrait and the Presidential Seal. They are gold-colored, but not made of gold, as per the U.S. Mint.
However, the design has drawn criticism over a federal law restricting depictions of living presidents on U.S. currency. But that didn’t stop Trump from issuing this currency out in the public anyway.
