US President Donald Trump, who is known for his often contradictory comments, has yet again stated that the United States is in no hurry to end its war with Iran. In his latest remark, Trump stated that the US has enough time to deal with the Iran war.
Trump claimed that Iran wants to hold negotiations with the US. He claimed that Iran t is facing serious financial difficulties, and having trouble paying its soldiers and police personnel.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, President Trump said discussions were still taking place and that Tehran was keen to negotiate. Trump claimed that Iran was struggling to manage its internal affairs.
Describing the Iran war as different from a typical war, Trump said the US was spending relatively little money on the military campaign.
He also claimed that the money spent on the Iran war had already been recovered several times over through Venezuela. However, he did not provide any figures or details to support his claim.
Trump’s remarks come amid uncertainty over the future of the Iran war, with diplomatic efforts yet to produce a lasting agreement. The US and Iran continue to disagree on key issues, including Tehran’s nuclear programme, sanctions and the US blockade of Iranian ports.
With the US holding midterm elections on November 3, it is buzzed that the US may re-start war against Iran soon after the elections. These comments of Donald Trump are worrying global investors as war incurs huge costs and raises inflation.
