US President Donald Trump has described the latest midterm election results as a major setback for the country after his Republican Party lost control of Congress.
Reacting to the midterm election results, Trump said the election results had taken America a “giant step back in history”. However, Trump expressed confidence that Republicans would bounce back stronger in the future.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump said his party would return “bigger and stronger than ever before”.
Trump also raised concerns over the stock market, claiming that it had lost nearly $3 trillion in a single day. Trump contrasted the decline with what he described as the strong performance of the stock market during his presidency.
The Republican Party’s loss of control of Congress is seen as a major political setback for President Trump, potentially making it difficult for his administration to push forward its legislative agenda.
