The forced pause in every walk of life due to the global pandemic has badly affected the entertainment field too. With the virus spread scare and lockdowns, most theaters had to stay shut for a long time. Now, giving relief to the theaters in Telangana, the state government has granted permission to collect the parking fees.
To comfort the theaters that have been suffering from losses due to Covid-19, the Telangana government has allowed all the single screen theaters in the state to collect parking fees for the vehicles of moviegoers at the movies.
The government earlier in 2018, banned the parking fee collection according to GO no 63 and now the amendment revokes the same. Well, the government’s permission to collect the parking fee is applicable only to single screens, but not the multiplexes and theaters in shopping malls.
The GO released earlier is still applicable regarding the parking fee at multiplexes and shopping malls. Considering the request of theater owners to supervise and guard the vehicles at the theaters to avoid law and order problems, the state government ordered them to collect the fee and supervise accordingly.
