After Telangana, Rahul Gandhi Eyes On AP Congress

The Congress party has paid a heavy price by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh. For two successive terms in the Telugu states, Congress faced a humiliating defeat. But in Telangana, the Congress has better scope than AP and to further strengthen the party, Rahul Gandhi was instrumental in appointing Revanth Reddy as T-PCC chief.

The Congress high command believes that the Telangana Congress is back on track restoring complete faith in Revanth. And now the Congress high command has shifted its focus on AP Congress. Accordingly Rahul Gandhi has entered the scene and he wants to completely overhaul the AP Congress from leadership to cadre.

AP Congress in-charge Oommen Chandy has reportedly submitted a detailed report to Rahul Gandhi on the current status of the party in state. Apart from this RaGa has also discussed the possibilities of reviving the party in AP.

RaGa with AP Congress in-charges have prepared a list of senior Congressmen from AP and would want to take their inputs to bring back the past glory. The names include KVP Ramachander Rao, ex-CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, Raghuveera Reddy and others.

All the leaders in the list have received calls from Rahul Gandhi and for the next 15 days, RaGa will be meeting one after the other senior Congress leaders and will have a closed-door discussion with them. RaGa is also in thoughts to appoint a new AP PCC chief and this might happen by the end of August.

But it needs a miracle for Congress or RaGa to revive the party in AP. The people of AP are still upset with Congress for dividing the state unilaterally and they haven’t accepted the apology of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi yet.
