In an unexpected and totally surprising news Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has resigned from his post. This move from the Gujarat CM comes ahead of the state’s Assembly elections. For now the reasons are not yet known behind Rupani’s resignations.
From the media reports we hear that the BJP High Command has ample knowledge of Vijay Rupani stepping down from the CM chair and it’s a strategic move to call for the early Assembly polls.
Simultaneously there are reports that the BJP leadership is not happy with Vijay Rupani’s governance and handling the party affairs. The BJP high command is said to be considering replacing Rupani on these grounds and before it takes a call, Rupani has stepped down.
Gujarat happens to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state and it did not have a single CM who led the state for five years after Modi shifted to New Delhi.
So early polls or new CM? The outcome will be known late Saturday.
