Chandrababu Denied Permission To Visit Atchannaidu

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was denied permission to visit former minister and TDLP vice-president K. Atchannaidu who was arrested for alleged involvement in the Rs 150-crore ESI scam and is at present undergoing treatment in GGH, Guntur, after he started bleeding following a recent surgery. The court sent him to 14-day remand.

The jail officials of Guntur district told Naidu that they cannot give permission to him or any other person to visit Atchannaidu as Covid-19 norms were under implementation in the jail during the last two months.

Naidu made another appeal to the superintendent of GGH, Guntur to which the latter suggested that the Opposition leader take the permission of the magistrate and visit Atchannaidu.

On Friday, the ACB officials arrested Atchannaidu amidst a high drama and was shifted to Vijayawada in a vehicle. His family members alleged that around 200 sleuths stormed their house and arrested Atchannaidu and did not even allow him to take his medicines even when they told the ACB officials that he had undergone a surgery a couple of days ago.

His brother’s son and Srikakulam MP K. Rammohan Naidu took to Twitter and alleged that Atchannaidu began bleeding as he was made to travel for more than 20 hours in a vehicle. He also said that the vehicle in which his father’s brother travelled yesterday halted at a garden in Tuni where Atchannaidu cleaned himself and then they proceeded to Vijayawada.

On learning that Atchannaidu had undergone a surgery recently, Chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered that he should be provided treatment. Atchannaidu had undergone a surgery for perianal abscess at KIMS on Thursday. Dr G. Someswara Rao who operated Atchannaidu said that after removing the infected part, he was advised to take complete rest for five days. Dr Someswara Rao said that he began bleeding as he was made to sit and travel for a long time. The doctor suggested that there is a risk of the area becoming septic if it was not cleaned regularly.
