September 17th marks the Liberation Day of Hyderabad. Despite making a promise before the separate statehood and forming government, the TRS party did not make the Liberation Day an official one on behalf of the state government.
The oppositions have been demanding the TRS government to celebrate the Liberation Day officially for the past seven years but there is no response.
Amidst this Telangana Governor Tamilisai Sounderarajan’s tweet is creating a political storm. She took to her Twitter and greeted the people of Telangana on Liberation Day.
“My heartfelt wishes to all the people of Telangana on the occasion of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17. I appeal to all to pay rich tributes to the martyrs who made the highest sacrifices in the freedom struggle,” tweeted Tamilisai in Telugu.
The ruling TRS party is a little upset with the Governor’s tweet. Though none of the TRS leaders have made an open comment, they are internally upset. The oppositions i.e, BJP and Congress are taking advantage of the Governor’s tweet and yet again demanded the TRS government to officially celebrate the Liberation Day.
Meanwhile Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be landing in Nirmal later in the day and will take part in a Liberation Day meeting being organised by Telangana BJP.
