Fan Asked Big B Why He Endorses Pan Masala; Actor Responds

Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been questioned by a fan on Facebook about his association with pan masala brands. The actor came up with an apt reply, leaving netizens lauding him for his explanation.

A fan had left a comment on his recent Facebook post asking him why he had to endorse pan masala as this sends a wrong message to the society. “Why do you feature in ads for Kamala Pasand Pan Masala? Then what is the difference between you and these sellouts?” a fan asked.

Big B replied “Sir, I am apologetic, if someone is doing good in any business, then we should not think about why we are collaborating with them. If there is a business then we also have to think about our business in it. I also get money. Such petty words neither suit you nor do they adorn other artists of the industry.”

Whether the product is good for society or not, celebrities see the endorsement as work and nothing else. Also, the name/face of a celebrity carries a lot of weight. Any company that produces goods or services endorsed by a celebrity will earn far more than if they were simply using ad agency adverts. In return for ensuring that the company earns more profits and the celebrity will be paid heavily for their endorsement.

On the work front, Amitabh will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ which will also star Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The film also has Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. He also has a part in Nag Ashwin’s untitled next starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
