I am a full-time and hands on Congress President: Sonia Gandhi

Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi claimed that she is a full time President of the Congress party in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) which has surprised many. All these days Sonia Gandhi was standing in as interim President but out of nowhere she claimed that she is the full time President.

The CWC discussed a wide range of issues from Lakhimpur Kheri violence to fuel prices that are soaring over the last few weeks. Sonia Gandhi criticised the Modi government which is in a spree of privatisation.

Simultaneously Sonia Gandhi also sent a strong message to all the Congress leaders across all the states. “I have always appreciated frankness. There is no need to speak to me through the media. So let us all have a free and honest discussion. But what should get communicated outside the four walls of this room is the collective decision of the CWC,” read the statement of Sonia Gandhi.

The next CWC meeting might be held before 2022 September and a new Congress President will also be elected then.

There have been many demands to make Rahul Gandhi as the President of INC but Sonia wants to take a call as the elections are approaching which could boost the Congress cadre.
